End The Death Sentence!

“You are hereby sentence to death immediately on Jan. 24, 2015 at 5:15 P.M.” says the judge in front of you. At that moment, two guards come up to you and take you to your prison cell. To be put on death row (to get executed) is considered the most cruel punishments. That is why it would be the best that we would end capital punishment.

Capital Punishment has been since ancient times, but has been put aside for more religious reasons. Capital punishment has gone against many things, including the bible. The bible says that thou shalt not kill (Exodus 21:13 in the Bible), but even though they kill someone, we should not get revenge. Also with going along with you shall not kill, we should not sin against someone who had sinned. Part of the christian religion is forgiving and compassion.

Capital Punishment has been set unholy by christians and muslims, but there are other ways to have a type of capital punishment instead of killing them. The prisoners should have a choice if they want to be killed or just be in jail for the rest of their life. “We shouldn't be looking to the past”  (Buffalo News, 2014) “Instead, we should be looking to the future, more along the lines of a life prison sentence.

Some people might say that capital punishment is good for some people. Those people are like Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who had kill several people and injured hundreds at the boston bombing last year. (Buffalo News, 2014) Charlie Baker, a politician from Massachusetts had said “I support the reasonable application of death penalty for only the most serious crimes,” on January 31, 2014, but I say that does it matter when a person dies? Every person on the planet either dies now or later, it doesn’t matter. We all will die at some point.

Capital punishment has been deem as a bad punishment since the beginning of time. Either by religious reasons or common sense, but some people have said capital punishment is a good thing, but there are also other ways to punish someone for what they have done. So the real question is, would you want to be killed by lethal injection? I am sure I wouldn’t want to be.

Theme in Book Theif

The theme in the Book Thief is taking risks. This happens when Liesel takes a risk stealing a book, just as how the Hubermans took a risk and hid a Jew in their own basement. The last example is when Liesel goes to the mayors house and reads books there.

What would life have been like for the non-Jewish residents of Munich who did not support the Nazi ideals?

The life of the non-Jewish residents who didn't support the Nazi's would be bad. They would be poor, hated on, and everyone would not like them. They would be so hated on that they would finally support the Nazi's to stop all of the hating.

What Does Patriotism Mean to Me

What patriotism used to mean to me; a person who loves their own country. A person who will say the pledge; a person who would die for their country. When people do anything that has spectators that is big, or little, they would will sing the National Anthem. The last way I used to think of patriotism is that you were a New England Patriot fan.

When I was researching what the true definition is, I had changed my opinion on patriotism. Two very famous people, Mark Twain and Thomas Paine, had both said the same thing, “A patriot is someone whose protects its country from its government”. What it really means is that a patriot is someone who loves your own country, but you don't let the government destroy it.

When I was researching what other people thought it means, I also looked up what the definition is. I found out that it means ‘love that people feel for their country, or that is what Merriam-Webster Dictionary said.  What that means is that you love your country, and that it is like your secret love nobody knows but everybody knows.

What I now think what patriotism is that you really love your country. You would do anything for it, even die for it. What patriotism means to me now is that you support your county, and nothing you do would stop you from loving it. In a time of crisis, you would love you country till you die. In America you can do whatever you want. As Barack Obama said, “Yes We Can!”
